LEWIS AND CLARK (may 14, 1804 – sep 23, 1806)
Description:
Lewis and Clark were the brave men who ventured into the unknown, the newly acquired Louisiana Territory. These men traveled from the Mississippi River all the way to the Pacific Ocean. Their expedition was referred to by President Jefferson as the Corps of Discovery. Lewis and Clark traveled several thousand miles and gathered lots of geographical information used to produce maps and identify new animal and plant species not yet discovered by the Americans.
