The Battle of New Orleans was fought after the War of 1812 had concluded. The British had planned a surprise attack on the Americans at the Port of New Orleans, and they were stopped. US military leader, Jackson, made a large impact during this battle, promoting his popularity. There were around 700 British casualties and eight American casualties.Added to timeline:
