Description:

Experimented with the theory of cognitive dissonance. Concluded that attitudes and behaviors are inconsistent cause discomfort results. This discomfort motivates the person experiencing it to either change the behavior or the attitude so that consonance is restored. Invented the "Jigsaw Classroom", a cooperative teaching technique that facilitates learning while reducing interethnic hostility and prejudice. It was concluded that it has positive effects on academic performance, self-esteem, and attitudes towards other ethnic groups.
