- Scandals: In 1967 Richard Nixon tried to stop the New York Times and the Washington post from printing documents that were classified and stolen from the Pentagon, and i contained the information about the governments role in the Vietnam War. It also shows that the government lied to the people about the way the war is going. In 1970 there was a break in at Democratic Offices where they covered up and organized Nixon three impeachment charges of obstruction of justice, contempt of congress, and abuse.
