"Bloody Mary" (feb 12, 1553 – sep 23, 1558)
Description:
Mary was a Catholic, and she wanted England to return to the Roman Catholic church. She received a lot of opposition for this. No one liked her husband, Philip II (son of Charles V), and no one supported the alliance with Spain.
Mary burned more than three hundred Protestant heretics. Mary had instilled more of a want for Protestantism than before she was queen because people hated her so much.
Her death ended Catholicism in England.
