Harry Hess using radar equipment mapped the seafloor. He notices a giant mountain range in the ocean called the Mid Atlantic Ridge. In the Ridge, he said that something called seafloor spreading was going on. Hot rock came out of the ridge and pushed the seafloor out. This was thespreading of the seafloor.Added to timeline:
