Description:
Who: South Carolina, Jackson.
What: South Carolina responds negatively to Tariff of 1832 and nullifies it within their borders. Jackson issues Force Bill. Eventually compromise reached with Tariff of 1833, South Carolina ends nullification but nullifies Force Bill to spite Jackson.
When: 1832-1833.
Where: South Carolina.
Why: Federal power over state rights, economic downturn.
