France, England, Italy (jan 1, 1350 – jan 1, 1600)
Description:
European thinkers, writers and artists in began to revive the art and culture of ancient Greece and partly Rom. They though that the Middle ages was an era without any real accomplishments where no art, great leaders och science were born/developed.
The renaissance era was first "introduced" in Italy and then reached Britian in the early 16th century. Some ideas were:
Philosophy was important
sensual pleasures was allowed
Appreciation for God was as strong.
Humanism
In britian, the Church of England was formed
Catholic --> Protestant with numerous beheadings of writers and catholics during the process.
No idea of copyright existed. Instead, writers had to write for the theatre, where they wrote poems for the queen of aristocratic patrons who gave them sums of money in return.
