Description:

Cave paintings are a type of parietal art that are found on the wall or ceilings of caves. The most common subjects in cave paintings are large wild animals, such as bison, horses, aurochs, and deer, and tracings of human hands or hand stencils as well as abstract patterns, called finger flutings. The oldest known cave painting is located in the Maltravieso Caves in Cáceres, Spain, featuring hand stencils with red pigment on the cave walls.
