The Renaissance (jan 1, 1400 – jan 1, 1700)
Description:
The renaissance is the movement that symbolizes the “rebirth” of the Middle Ages. Middle ages could be portrayed as the period of war and plagues. It took a course of action around the 14th century well into the 17th century. It originated in Italy, Florence, in a place with wealthy people who were the sponsors for many artists. This movement is known for its art, architecture, and science. Scientific discoveries were created left and right, creating a new paradigm shift, such as the heliocentrism theory. This time hosted prominent figures like Leonardo Da Vinci, Rene Descartes, Galileo, and Nicolaus Copernicus. Eventually, this period created an opening for exploration of the surrounding world. -- Tatiana Nikolaeva
