Description:
During this period over 23 mln people immigrated to the United States. Most of them came from southern and estern Europe.
In the first wave of immigration there weren't too much problem about the new immigrants, while in the second one anti-immigration sentiments had become so strong. In fact a lot of people demanded laws to make it harder for foreings to become and american citizens
