Description:
Iraq's dictator, Saddam Hussein, started the war in. Iraq's strategy consisted mostly of missile and air attacks on the opponent's cities and resources, while Iran was more willing to sustain casualties by attacking via land. However, in 1988 Iraq puts boots on the ground and was able to force Iran to accept a UN resolution to end the war.Added to timeline:
