Renewal plan for Temple Bar (dec 31, 1991 – dec 31, 1995)
Description:
In 1991 a renewal plan for Temple Bar was commissioned by the Irish government. Martin Drury was engaged with the planning of a cultural service dedicated for children. It was planned that a cultural centre would be designed to facilitate theatre and the arts for children from all backgrounds. This proposal was granted support financially from the government and led to the launch of The Ark, which opened its doors in 1995, under the direction of the project planner Martin Drury. (Ark.ie)
