Holy Crusades (mar 3, 1095 – may 5, 1291)
Description:
European campaigns against Muslims for control of the holy land. The crusades were not successful in acquiring the holy land for Christianity. After the crusades, trade increased because there was a higher awareness of what the Middle East had to offer. European kings also gained power because many lords died in battle. A diminished nobility left power for the royalty.
