King Louis XIV's reign of France (may 14, 1643 – sep 1, 1715)
Description:
King Louis XIV of France technically ascended the throne in May of 1643, when his father died. However, it wasn't until later that Louis XIV started to really change France; he built a gorgeous yet considerably large palace in Versailles, changed the nobles' power entirely by luring them to his palace, and expelled around 200,000 Huguenots.
