Theory of Causation- theory stating that X causes Y, Y's follow X's not vice verse, and a connection between X and Y such that when X occurs a Y always follows
Knowledge is experience-He disbelieved in innate ideas, a doctrine saying the mind is never at a "blank slate" and gains knowledge through things other than experiences and the sense, and believed knowledge is gained soley through experince
