The Walkman (jan 1, 1979 – jan 1, 1980)
Walkman is a Sony brand trade name, originally used for portable audio cassette players from the late 1970s onwards. In later on, it has been used by Sony to advertise portable digital audio/video players. The original Walkman cassette player was released in 1979 and it changed music listening habits by allowing people to listen to their music while they were on the move. This could turn everyday tasks like commuting and running into more pleasurable experiences.
