Renaissance (jun 22, 1350 – dec 22, 1700)

Description:

A revival of classicism in Europe. The arts and sciences flourished during the renaissance which began in Italy. New art styles like perspective, realism, and the use of shading were employed to create very realistic art. Affluent Europeans began buying art and having portraits of themselves painted, and art spread. Advances in science were made and were able to spread quickly with the invention of the printing press.
