Edict of Nantes in place (apr 1, 1598 – oct 1, 1685)
Description:
The Edict of Nantes was a religious treaty between the Huguenots and Catholics lasting a total of 87 years . The treaty was so successful because the people were afraid of God, and were not as afraid of tolerance because England beat Spain, and England was Protestant making them think that maybe being a protestant is not bad.
