General Fannin was on his way to meet up with general Houston he had to stop in an open field to give his oxen and men a rest. While in a thick fog , the mexicans surrounded him and they were growing bigger. With only one option to keep him and his men alive , Fannin surrenders making it a win for Mexico.Added to timeline:
