Atlanta campaign (may 7, 1863 – sep 2, 1863)
Description:
Sherman's goal was to destroy the Army of the Tennessee, capture Atlanta and cut off vital Confederate supply lines. While Sherman failed to destroy his enemy, he was able to force the surrender of Atlanta. Atlanta was burned down and put in ruins, but resettled and become the capital.Added to timeline:
