Italian natural philosopher, astronomer, and mathematician
He contributed to the law of motion by discovering that the distance fallen by a body is proportional to the square of the elapsed time and the trajectory of a projectile as a parabola.
He drew the moon's phases and discovered that the moon's surface was rough and uneven.
