Ulysses S. Grant (mar 4, 1869 – mar 3, 1877)
Description:
Worked well with Congress and backed Reconstruction. The 15th Amendment was passed during his Presidency along with three other enforcements and the 1875 Civil Rights Act. He sought to protect African Americans.Used federal troops and authority to support Reconstruction.
