The American Revolution (jan 1, 1776 – feb 1, 1780)

Description:

The American Revolution was a culmination of years of neglect and mistrust that built up between the 13 colonies and England. Economic measures such as the Stamp, Sugar, and Navigation Acts combined with social influences of the Enlightenment in a firery revolt that would have wide ramifications. Unlike any revolt against colonial overseers before this one actually worked and provided a change that was irreversible. On the flip side after the war England continued to experience commercial and economic success and for the time being maintained America's economic dependence on it for goods.
