The Pottawatomie Massacre (may 24, 1856 – may 25, 1856)
Description:
The Pottawatomie Massacre–the murder of five pro-slavery gentleman in front of their families by John Brown and his sons–most definitely caused outrage throughout the South. It struck the feeling of injustice for the innocent men into every member of the Southern cause, strengthening their side and making the possibility of their rebellion all the more plausible.
