Mexican War of Independence (mar 10, 1898 – aug 2, 1901)

Description:

A Mexican revolution against New Spanish rule gave the American Confederation the opportunity to invade northern Mexico. The combined Mexican independence militias in the south and American troops in the north split the French and Spanish armies sent to restore peace, leading to their defeat and retreat into the Yucatan peninsula. The Confederacy set up loyal state governments in the northern provinces, so that they readily accepted the offer of entry into the Confederacy. The new Mexican Republic made peace with these northern states and the French and Spanish in Yucatan. In the aftermath of the war, France seized all remaining Spanish colonies.
