"Bleeding Kansas" (jan 1, 1854 – jan 1, 1859)

Description:

When Kansas was added as a territory it was built around popular sovereignty. That meant that the people of Kansas would deicide if they would be a slave state or not. People from the north and south fled to Kansas to try to inflate the numbers of their side of the argument on slavery.
