The Compromise of 1850 (jan 1, 1850 – jan 1, 1851)
Description:
This compromise admitted California as a free state and included no regulation of slavery across the land of the Mexican cession. It also strengthened the Fugitive Slave Act which was unfavorable to many northernors.
