Freedom Summer (jun 21, 1964 – nov 2, 1964)

Description:

1. A nonviolent effort by African Americans in Mississippi to integrate into politics and gain voting rights.
2. The Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee and the Congress of Racial Equality recruited white college students to help black people in the South register to vote, make a new political party, and learn about history.
