Life of Ignatius (jan 1, 35 – jan 1, 107)
Description:
Ignatius was one of the original post-apostolic age Church leaders, hailing from the patriarchal city of Antioch. After the apostles passed away, and with the rise of proto-Gnostic ideologies, Ignatius argued strongly for both the spiritual and physical natures of Christ. Christian tradition holds that he was martyred in Rome, by being fed to wild animals.
