The gay and lesbian community faced many different obstacles through their movements, for example, the groups were separated by the police, the Nazis labeled them the same as sexual predators, the sexual orientation was recognized to be a mental illness, laws were passed stopping people from this community getting jobs, the AIDS epidemic, etc. These movements created laws and took some away to make sure that this community had the same rights as others.
