Civil Right's Movement (jul 26, 1948 – apr 11, 1968)
Description:
This movement was done to end segregation and discrimination due to race and was mostly nonviolent. It aimed to protect all Americans with basic rights disregarding colors, race, gender, and origin. Some main figures come out and are Rosa Parks, Malcolm X, and Martin Luther King. It resulted in many different laws, the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Voting Rights Acts of 1965, and lastly, on the 11th of April, 1968, President Johnson signs the Civil Rights Act (Fair Housing Act).
