Elizabeth I ruled over England during a time of high prosperity, occasionally referred to as the Elizabethan age. Short of the sheer fact that she ruled as a queen during a highly patriarchal time, her work in reviving England’s economy, restoring peace in England, and decreasing religious divides between Protestants and Catholics are greatly admired.
