Reign of Queen Elizabeth I (jan 1, 1558 – jan 1, 1577)
Description:
Elizabeth I ruled over England during a time of high prosperity, occasionally referred to as the Elizabethan age. Short of the sheer fact that she ruled as a queen during a highly patriarchal time, her work in reviving England’s economy, restoring peace in England, and decreasing religious divides between Protestants and Catholics are greatly admired. Similarly, during her rule, England experienced a historical golden age, defeated the Spanish Armada, massively expanded exploration, and more. She was, quite literally, a queen.
