Key Facts:
- They were the first to migrate out of Africa
-They were the first to hunt, and in groups
- learned to control fires
-used stone tools like the hand ax
Migration Path:
The homo Erectus were the first of human ancestors to migrate out of Africa into Asia and Europe. They could leave Africa because they had a somewhat modern body shape with an efficient walking ability for long distances. Also they had more developed intelligence to cope with unfamiliar environments, and improved technology to help them have an advantage. And finally a diet that included more meat, which increased the food supply options in different environments.
Observation/claim:
There were fossils found outside of Africa, in South East Asia, and in other parts of Asia and Europe. And they are the oldest bones/skeletons found anywhere outside of Africa, so that suggested that the Homo Erectus were the first to migrate out of Africa.
