Description:
Peter the Great helped to westernize Russia. He greatly increased the strength of the Russian army through taxes and using western technologies. He also created mandatory education for the nobility and enlisted all nobility in the army as well as increasing the draft. He created St. Petersburg and won the Great Northern War in order to have access to Western Europe through the Baltic Sea.Added to timeline:
