Humayun sends the diamond to Tahmasp, the Shah of Safavid Iran - 1547
The diamond now known as the Koh-i-Noor is presented to the Mughal Emperor at the time, Shah Jahan by Persian merchant Mir Jumla - 1738
Iranian ruler Nadir Shah Afshar seizes the Mughal treasury and gives the diamond the name Koh-i-noor - 1739
