At four years old, Offred receives a pop-up book of reproductive organs.Offred's mother takes her to a park to burn pornographic magazines with her friends.Offred becomes close friends with Moira in college.Offred has a premarital affair with Luke and gets pregnant. Luke divorces his first wife and marries Offred.Congress and the President are shot down in the White House, leading to Martial Law and the suspension of the Constitution. Repressive actions are brought against any public access to porn. Offred and all of the other women at her work are fired, and their money is rendered useless.Offred, Luke, and their 5 year-old daughter attempt to escape Gilead but are apprehended. June is separated from her daughter and Luke's fate is unknown.Offred is transported to the "Red Center," where women are taught the "Ceremony" and are publicly abused and blamed for having been raped. Moira arrives soon after, and they conspire to escape. Moira was able to escape while June was punished by being whipped on the soles of her feet.After serving 2 other Commanders unsuccessfully Offred is taken to Commander Fred and his wife Serena Joy.Ofgelen has a baby girl named Angela.Commander and Offried go to the bar "Jezabel's" for Offred's birthday and meets back up with Mora.After Commander and Offred go to Jezbel's, they go home and have some more adult fun.The Commander's Wife and The Eyes "salvaged" or publicly murder and couple of criminals and hang them on the wall.Then after a the Savalging, Offred get's arrested for going to the bar.
