December 19, John Osborn and Brigadier Lawson died.
December 25, Governor of Hong Kong surrendered, ending the battle.
October 27, Two Canadian units sailed to Hong Kong.
November 16, The two Canadian units arrived in Hong Kong.
December 23, Garrison split into two groups.
December 13-17, Japan recommend that Canada and Hong Kong should surrender.
During the summer of 1941, Hong Kong was garrisoned by four battalions by British infantry.
In August, Major-General A.E. Grasett returned to Canada.
