Robert Oppenheimer was born

1922: He begins his undergraduate studies at Harvard University.
Oppenheimer spends a year at the University of Cambridge, England, where he works with physicist Joseph John Thomson

Oppenheimer becomes the head of the theoretical physics division at the Los Alamos Laboratory in New Mexico, leading the Manhattan Project's development of the atomic bomb.

Robert Oppenheimer passes away on February 18, 1967, in Princeton, New Jersey, at the age of 62.
