A Star Was BornMy older brother finally takes me with him to go play basketballJoined first little league basketball league, Metro Louisville Cardinals. Made All-Star teamMiddle School basketball coach would not let me try out for team. He said I was too short.Tried out for middle school basketball team as an 8th grader. Proved the coach wrong at tryouts and made team.Started at Central High School. Immediately earned respect of the upperclassmen while playing pickup games in the morning before school started. Made basketball team and was starting point guard on the freshman squad.Didn't feel like practicing one day, so I faked an ankle injury. Bad thing was, I did it during a one-on-one drill in which another guy stepped on my foot. To this day, that guy swears he crossed me over and 'broke my ankles'. SMHSome
