1810: 2 million children across the United States are working 50-70 hours a week
1802: The first law regulating child labor is passed. Numerous will follow
1838: Oliver Twist is published
1878: The series of laws regulating child labor ends(started in 1802)
1899: 28 states have passed laws regulating child labor
1918: The first law of 2 is passed, regulating child labor. This law is the biggest law past to regulate child labor so far
1922: The second law of 2 is passed. But, both are repealed(including the law passed in 1918) because they were declared 'unconstitutional'
1924: Congress proposes a law to stop child labor, but the states do not ratify it
1938: The FLSA is passed, the law that ended child labor
