The first outbreak happened in Republic of Congo, Yambuku. The ebola virus was spread by contact .This outbreak was the first recognition of the disease. There were 318 reported cases and 280 deaths.
A medical doctor traveled from Gabon to Johannesburg after treating ebola infected people and got exposed to the virus. he was hospitalized, and a nurse took care of him and got infected and died.
In USA 4 people got the ebola virus but none of them died. the ebola virus was introduced in quarantine facilities in Virginia, and Texas by monkeys that were imported from the Philiphines.
In Uganda 425 people were infected and 224 people died. The two most important risks are if someone dies with the ebola virus and they touch him or her because they are sad that he or she died they could get infected. The second way is of a doctor touches someone with the virus and touch someone else, they could get infected too.
In the Republic of Congo 143 people got infected and 128 people died. This outbreak happened in the district of Mbomo and Kéllé in Cuvette Quest Department.
In the Democratic Republic of the Congo 264 people got infected and of those 187 died. This outbreak occurred in Kasai Occidental Province. The outbreak was declared over November 20. Last confirmed case in October 4 and last death on October 10.
In the Uganda 149 people got infected and 37 of them died. The outbreak happened in Bundibugyo in Western Uganda.
In Uganda 11 people got infected and 4 people died. The outbreak happened in the Kibaale District of Uganda.
In Democratic Republic of the Congo 66 people got infected and 44 died. This outbreak happened in multiple villages in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The outbreak was unrelated to the outbreak in Western Africa.
In multiple countries 28.616 people got infected and 16310 people died. Thirty-six confirmed cases were reported from Italy, Mali, Nigeria, Zenagal, Spain, UK, and the US. A further 24 confirmed patients with ebola were transported to France, Germany, Italy, The Netherlands, UK, US, Norway, Spain, and Switzerland.
