President George Washington was sworn into office as the first president of the United States.
The first Congress was born, and included the State Department, the Treasury, and the War department, which were all controlled by the president.
The Judiciary act was put into place, and established the federal court system.
The Bill of Rights was added to the constitution.
The Whiskey Rebellion took place as a result of the taxation on whiskey.
Pinckney's Treaty was announced, which allowed Americans to explore the Mississippi River and trade in New Orleans.
The Alien and Sedition acts were put into place to stop foreigners, or send them to prison.
The Virginia and Kentucky Resolutions were put into place to stop unconstitutional laws from being made and enforced.
