When Southern Sudan started rebbeling against the North it started the first Civil War.
In 1972 southern Sudan got greater autonomy an included southerners in the national government.
In 1976 the government imposed the Islamic Law which led to the second Civil War, with the newly formed SPLA and SPLM.
The Second Civil War started in 1983
SPLA started getting help by in-fighting from 1991-1996.
In 1996 the SPLA united with the NDA.
In 1998 the SPLA makes major advances in the war.
In 2002 Al-Bashir had peace negotiations with the SPLA.
This is when the Egyptian Conquest of the Sudan began. Egypt conquered Sudan and colonized Southern and Northern Sudan
In 1953, the British had an agreement with Sudan to self-rule
In 1956, Sudan had a vote to proclaim Sudan an independent state.
The South Sudan civil war is going on because two tribes are fighting each other. They are the Nuer and DInka tribe.
In 2011, Southern Sudan had referendum for freedom. Almost 99% of the people voted to be independent.
South Sudan became the newest country to the world.
In 2017 there is little armed fighting with Sudan. There a few border disputes
South Sudan stopped oil trade with Sudan after an argument with the goverenments.
In March 2013, South SUdan reopened oil trade with Sudan..
A military coup toppled the civilian government.
