In 1625, trade and finance in the Austrian territories were overthrown by the foreign capital.
The English and Dutch were terrified of trade rivalry; and their feelings were made violent by Spain's Support for the venture in 1725, this i ntroduced political elements.
In 1727, Charles Vl suspended there company for seven years because of opposition from France, Russia, Prussia, Britian, and United Provinces.
In 1731, the company dispersed due to the Treaty of Vienna in order to gain a sanction.
William Bolts, advisor of large corporations, proposed restoration of “Austrian trade with India from the Adriatic port of Trieste”, in 1775.
On September 24, 1776, the Bolts sailed from Livorno in the dominions of Leopold, to India in command of a ship under the flag of the Holy Roman Empire.
The Bolts took a ten year charter (from 1776) authorizing trade under imperial colours between Austria’s Adriatic ports, India, Persia, China and Africa. Also from Africa and Madagascar from America.
The Bolts established a factory at Delagoa Bay, which was used as a base for trade between East Africa and the West coast ports of India. William Bolts used three ships to conduct this “country” trade.
During 1778 to 1783, the Bolts took advantage of Austria’s neutral status in the Britain and France war. The hostile acts of the East India Company towards the Bolts in India were the subject of urgent representation by the Austrian Ambassador.

Bolts while on business on India, lost control of his charters to Proli.
Bolts and Proli, on July 28, 1781 held a share company
That August, Bolts relinquished control over his charters to Asia.
