Pearl Harbor was bombed by Japan & the U.S. declares war on Japan. Louie is alerted that all serviceman are called to their bases.
Germany and Italy declare war on the U.S.
Louie graduates from flight school as an officer. He says goodbye to his family in Torrance before heading to Ephrata, Washington on a train.
Louie and his crew heads to Oaha.
Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy form a treaty of cooperation
Japan Invades China which starts World War II in the Pacific.
Bulgaria joins the Axis Powers.
Germany, Italy, and Japan sign the Tripartite Pact.
England and France declare war on Germnay
Americans win the Battle of Midway
Louie's plane crashes into the ocean on a attempted rescue mission.
Louie's crew flies to the Island of Nauru, where a Japanese base is located.
Louie's crew and the squadron bomb the Japanese on the island of Wake. The raid was successful.
The Japanese bomb Funafuti, where Louie and the squadron are. Louie's crew is split up as a result of this.
Louie and the remaining members of his crew are transferred to the 42nd squadron.
Nazi Germany Invades Denmark and Norway.
Great Britain and France declare war on Germany.
The 1940 Tokyo Olympics are canceled.
Louie Zamperini is born
The Soviet Union invades Finland
Louie Zamperini participated in the 5,000 meter final in the 1936 Olympics.
