Tim Berners-Lee and the tyeam at CERN invent the World Wide Webto make information easier to publish and acess on the internet

Marc Andreessen of the NCSA in the US launches web browser Mosaic. It Introduces propreitary HTML tags and more sophisticated image capabilties. The browser is a massive sucess businesses start to notice the web's potential. Andreesen goes on to develop the Netscape web browser.

Yahoo is born and has 100,000 uses
