Gen. Flynn Fired for lying to VP Mike Pence and senior officials about talks with Russian ambassador Kislyak. Kislyak and Flynn purportedly talked about sanctions against Russia prior to Trump's inauguration.
In a face the nation interview Trump asserts that Flynn's national security clearance came from the Obama admin, not the Trump Admin.
"This man has served for many years, he's a general, he's a — in my opinion — a very good person," said Trump. "I believe that it would be very unfair to hear from somebody who we don't even know and immediately run out and fire a general." -Trump in interview with Lester Holt on NBC

Trump tweets: "Mike Flynn should ask for immunity in that this is a witch hunt (excuse for big election loss), by media & Dems, of historic proportion!"
Flynn lies to FBI about contacts with Kislyak. This lie was confirmed by Flynn when he plead guilty to lying to the FBI on Nov. 30th, 2017.
