Yalta Conference: Leaders of the "big three" ( Stalin, Roosevelt, Chruchill) met to discuss hope for the future of Europe by co operating and negotiating with each other.
Bay of pigs invasion: A failed mission by the USA to push FIdel Castro from power by the invasion of 1400 amercian backed cubans
Berlin Blockade: An attempt by the soviet union to stop the france, britain, and the usa from reaching their sectors in berlin.
Berlin wall built: a wall seperating east and west berlin was built because about 2.6 million people from the east of germany left to the west for a better life.
Berlin wall torn down: milllions celebrated by picking away at the wall by hammers and they went through the checkpoints. This marks the end of cold war.
Cuban missile crisis: The usa and soviets were ina military standoff where both countries were ready to use military force. Many people thought a nuclear war was going to happen but, Kennedy and krushchev came to an agreement.
Czech uprising ( Prague Spring): after WW2, Czechoslovakia stressed consumer goods over agricultural and services. The Soviet Union then invaded them.
The long telegram: George Kennan argued that the US should use the containment method to stop the Soviet Union from spreading communism.

Potsdam Conference: It was the last meeting between the leaders of the "big three". They all discussed and agreed on Germany's economy, the amount of reparations and boundaries.
