Coca Cola's first bottle went under contract. First started in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The bottle used was a straight-sided Hutchinson bottles with a metal stopper.
As Coke grew more popular their competitors started to produce bottles that looked alike with a different trade on them. Since this was happening Coca Cola patented their bottle by the Root Glass Company of Terre Haute, Indiana
As men and women were sent over seas for war, Coca Cola wanted to stand behind them and make Coke available to them at anytime.
Refrigerators were expanded their sizes which then made Coca Cola create there six pack bottle carrier. This encouraged consumers to enjoy Coke at home.
This was the year Coca Cola became the first product to appear on Time magazine, which made Coke an international brand. The company leader did not want his face on the front instead the product because the brand is more important.
A 12 oz. aluminum can was introduced with early graphics used so consumers will recognize it.
In this year the bottle was granted registration as trademark.
